But to meet this demand, our food is transported further than ever before, often by air. WebbI haven't seen non-processed groceries cheaper in the USA than in the Netherlands for almost 15 years. Everywhere I've been in the USA, things like fruits and vegetables cost twice as much as we pay here. Also breakfast cereal, actual wheat bread, spices, beer, and many other staples. I don't buy much meat so I'm not sure about that.
